  1. Ken Anderson short distance ahead of Hugh Neff coming into Nome now. Ken's kicking like a sprint musher. 14th place at stake. Tim/Nome
  2. Doesn't look too close b/w Mitch and Cim on stats, but Smyth waited on Front Street for chute to clear rather than crowd things for Mitch.
  3. Cim Smyth nearly passed Mitch Seavey for fourth. Smyth said if he had another 200 yards, he could have passed him. Tim/Nome
  4. The Nome finish line was like Grand Central station over the past hour. 2 Seaveys, Cim Smyth, Royer, Burmeister in a pack. Tim/Nome
  5. Schnuelle has the stronger team in the race for second. Baker had several injuries to deal with at WMO. He and the dogs are beat. Tim
  6. Mackey is moving fast - probably finish near 11 am. My flight from WMO to Nome is delayed so I will miss it. Tim
  7. Mackey is on his way to Nome with 15 dogs. Tim/White Mountain
  8. Lance says his legendary lead dog Larry, a 7 year old male, will be retiring after this race "whether he likes it or not." Tim/WMO
  9. A new generation of superstars has arisen in Mackey team. 2 year old female Maple has been leading on the coast. Tim/WMO
  10. Mackey and dogs are in White Mt, looking and acting bombproof. He has about a 7 hour lead. Females in heat is his only concern. Tim/WMO
  11. I am guessing that Lance arrives in White Mountain at 7:15 pm today. The wind will calm down for them between Golovin and WMO. Tim/WMO
  12. Don't expect anyone getting to White Mountain until mid to late afternoon. Then add about 18 hours to guess when the finish might be.Tim/WMO
  13. Iditarod teams still hunkered down on coast. North winds 20 mph or more. Burmeister/Seavey have been at shelter cabin north of Shak. Tim/WMO
  14. Back on the Yukon, conditions are nasty. 30 - 40 mph headwind. Watch out for dog teams to quit and mushers turn around. TB/Kaltag
  15. Another story from the trail... http://tinyurl.com/c48p2n

  18. Lance just arrived in UNK. Says he's already thinking about what color truck he wants and all 15 dogs are doing great. af/aprn
  19. It's brutal in Kaltag now - 30 mph winds from the north. Tough luck for teams trying to come upriver. TBodony/APRN
  20. Its -11 here in UNK, but it feels like at least 10 above with the sun. Seems like it must be great traveling weather. af/aprn
