  1. RT @parisreview: Poet John Ashbery to read tonight at NYU at 7 (free): http://bit.ly/6yDT6J See some of Ashbery's collages here: http:// ...
  2. Josephine Pryde at Richard Telles is the most unusually shocking show I've seen in some time.
  3. Really enjoying @Artnetcom's tweets of highlights in Miami. I agree that the Mondongo skull is pretty rad.
  4. Looking forward to the New Topographies show at LACMA today and going to galleries in general.
  5. @bookofjob Haven't found anything worth reading yet. I am hoping, however, to write on her, a sort of "Paglia on Madonna" type piece.
  6. So Lady Gaga has a Rilke tattoo? This fact made me long for something serious about Rilke, and Mlinko provides: http://tinyurl.com/yk5vwfk
  7. @bookofjob What is Danto's take ? . . . Not sure yet, but he battles with the work, which gives it more significance than mere praise.
  8. Reading Arthur Danto's book on Robert Mapplethorpe
  9. Sad to see Richard Lacayo's Looking Around blog come to an end, a big thank you to Richard for providing such great content for so long.
  10. RT @artwhirled: RT @hragv: Richard Lacayo says his Time Mag "Looking Around" art blog will flatline at the end of this week: http://bit. ...
  11. @bookofjob Here's my old post on Besty: http://icallitoranges.blogspot.com/2009/04/walead-beshty.html
  12. Great book forum this month: Coetzee, Irving, Carver, and Nabokov, not to mention harsh treatments of Ayn Rand and Donald Kagan.
  13. However, though Nickas told me at a party once that the book would illuminate Guyton and Walker for me, I still don't care about them.
  14. Bob Nickas' new Phaidon book on Abstraction is pretty good for a "here's big list of artists to care about" books. http://tiny.cc/TLTyy
  15. @TylerGreenDC The sad thing is that I didn't like the old glue and glitter.
  16. And so many young artists are doing awful Wool impersonations. Paging all silver and black slacker New York trust funders with spray cans.
  17. C. Wool must be as much of a nightmare to young painters as David Antin is to young poets - so many great ideas done so well its daunting.
  18. If I were in London (which I hope to be at some point during this run), I'd see this play: http://tiny.cc/yGrSb
  19. RT @artnetdotcom: Gregory Crewdson talks about his method: most important part is "location scouting" (via @albrightknox) http://bit.ly/ ...
  20. @TheAtlantaOpera Despite its flaws, Don Giovanni will always be my favorite.
