  3. I'm in Texas! Decided Monday I wanted to see my family, grabbed a flight on Tuesday.

  5. I must be solar-powered; Today is the first cloudy day we've had this week & I find myself unusually tired despite the Chai tea I'm sipping.
  6. Back at the Anadarko office today, working on spill reports. Went on a 3-mile hike last night, wish I had time to do it again tonight.

  9. It got up to 103 degrees F by the time I left. I'm SO glad to be back in Alaska. First thing I did when I returned was downhill skiing w/Ben
  10. I haven't updated much since the second half of my trip to CA. Total hiking mileage for archaeological surveys in the Mojave Desert: 116!
  11. I can't believe how fast this weekend went! Ben/I spent most of it w/new sea kayak, dancing, & shooting AR15 & array of hand-guns.
  12. Found myself a prehistoric artifact this morning : red flake core.
  13. Ugh getting up at 5:30 am to hike in the desert is difficult. I also just realized how many messages I need to respond to, I'll try tonight.
  14. After an amazing weekend w/Nick (check my blog later for details/photos), its back to the Mojave Desert, day 8.
  15. I did the math and over this 7-day rotation of surveying I have hiked approximately 93.8km. That's about 58 miles through the Mojave Desert.
  16. We finished early today, woohoo! Now back to the hotel to pack up for my mini vacation.
  17. This huge dust devil just blew right past us, less than 30 meters away. I'm glad it didn't hit us!
  18. Cooler today, thank goodness. We aren't finding much except for mining artifacts.
  19. I guess I've gotten into better shape since I started and now I move at a much quicker pace.
  20. We joined up with the other crew this morning and are moving so slowly its driving me nuts.
