  5. @moritherapy do you use any of the DSM stuff in your own work at all? often in public health 1 is forced to use it unfortunately
  6. @beadsland thanks! will have a look!
  7. RT @beadsland Per your grapple w/"healing", @denidzo & I are reading http://tinyurl.com/okrjr9 - it strikes me u might find something here.
  8. @atavistian it just seems so bizarre to me that orgs like NICE UK & NIMH US are so pro CBT research & treatment
  9. @atavistian also, w findings eg Scott D Millers re: client perceptions of t. relationship & concept of change predicting successful outcomes
  10. RT @atavistian: Yup, saw it. Biggest prob I have w/ CBT is no follow-through. Treated as a quick fix/band-aid. Doesn't sit well w/ me.
  11. RT @unsuicide @SMARTBuddhist "Stop trying to control everything, and let go. Just let go!" ~Tyler Durden [Chuck Palahniuk]
  12. @atavistian http://twitter.com/hyblis/s...
  13. thus few are pointing out John Brieres crit of CBT research re: exclusion criteria rendering studies more or less irrelevant for most
  14. the professionalization of "mental health" can/must be understood in economic terms, in economics, protectionism or monopoly power
  15. @atavistian well, each to their own :)
  16. @atavistian well to my mind, there aren't enough people noting the problems with the so called evidence being churned out by ebp
  17. @atavistian well i'm also suggesting its monopoly should be smashed ... no wonder people are feeling 'protective'
  18. @atavistian people seem so keen to 'protect' ebp i've noticed, when all i'm suggesting is we are too obsessed with it
  19. let me rephrase that... 'healing' is too loaded a word, a self-organizing world... who else is organizing it? lol!
  20. wow its really mind bending to talk about all this . . .
