  1. Ida heading across the Gulf of Mexico today and will make landfall on the northern gulf coast tonite. Ida should weaken more before landfall
  2. Ida has 90 MPH winds and is headed into the GOM. Projected path is the panhandle of Florida. Should weaken before affecting the Gulf Coast.
  3. Ida back to a tropical depression. Moving back over water and will regain tropical storm status by Saturday Moving toward the Gulf of Mexico
  4. Slow moving Hurricane Ida is currently making landfall on the Nicaragua coast. Up to 20 inches of rain possible in some areas.
  5. Ida formed this afternoon near the Nicarugua coast and will make landfall there tonight. Winds are at 65 MPH. Hurricane warnings in effect.
  6. Disturbance east of Bermuda flared up Sunday and has calmed back down today. Still expected to turn north with no impact to land.
  7. Disturbance 700 miles east of Bermuda that will not strengthen and is forecast to turn north....30 more days left in the 2009 season.
  8. No activity in the tropics at this time.
  9. 2 minor disturbances east of Nicaragua and east of the Bahamas, but not expected to develop...5 more weeks of hurricane season for 2009.
  10. Weekend of Oct. 16th, and the tropics are clear. 6 weeks left in the 2009 hurricane season. Will we make it throught without a landfall?
  11. Tropics clear once again. Expect the pop up and dissapation of these disturbances and storms throughout the rest of this hurricane season.
  12. TS Grace formed north of latitude 40, unusual, but not unprecidented. Another system 950 miles east of the Lesser Antilles bears watching.
  13. System off Africa has developed into Tropical Depression 8, but it's facing conditions that will not allow it to strengthen. It's no threat.
  14. System emerging off the coast of Africa has been given a "medium" chance for development by the NHC. It's still a long way from land.
  15. New tropical wave emerging off the coast of Africa. Low chance of this system developing.
  16. 3 systems Saturday, 2 systems Sunday, none, zero, nada, zitch,0 on Monday. Hard keeping up with all the disturbances that turn into nothing
  17. Watching two systems Sunday morning. Nothing expected to develop out of these two.
  18. Tropics are active again with three areas of interest. One should become a Tropical storm in the next 24 hours.
  19. Tropics are clear right now even though we're in the peak of hurricane season. El Nino seems to be keeping hurricane activity down
  20. Remnants of Fred and another disturbance off the coast of Africa are the only areas of interest right now. Low chance of orgainzation
