  1. @HowardKurtz So when do you turn in your resignation? #kurtzastrendingtopic
  2. @tolles That's always been my position. The reporter needs to be part of the conversation.
  3. RT @mathewi : @tolles: my preference is definitely for writers to do their own moderating - it is by far the best solution I think
  4. @johnrobinson And I bet you did the same amount of coverage both years.
  5. @tolles as for arguing with your audience, I find that's not a winning long-term strategy for a community news site.
  6. @tolles If by moderated, you mean reviewed an managed. Everything on The Batavian is moderated. There's no reason any n'paper can't do same.
  7. RT @anildash In the first World War, 65 million fought and 10 million died. Now only 3 vets of that war survive: http://bit.ly/wwivets
  8. RT @mleewelch Great Nick Gillespie column on Veteran's Day: http://bit.ly/15Cqdv
  9. @colinrmathews I should have hash-tagged that reply #newbiz
  10. @colinrmathews Thanks for noticing. :)
  11. RT @FakeAPStylebook If you refer to "cyberspace" or "surfing the web" in your Internet story, we hope you enjoyed your nap, Rip Van.
  12. @leolaporte didn't see anything I would call suspicious.
  13. @tishgrier Just normal.
  14. The Kinks - Acute Schizophrenia Paranoia Blues, 1972 http://bit.ly/znP7U
  15. @howardweaver @davidweinberger The other way to herd cats -- move their box.
  16. RT @RickWarren Love isnt letting people do whatever they want. That's often cowardice or apathy. (try telling that to an n'paper exec!)
  17. @Judy_Sims Only second wave of cutbacks? Isn't it more like fourth or fifth?
  18. @ScottNelson Newspapers wouldn't per se be better off; but I would argue for a LOCAL n'paper, being in Google of minimal value.
  19. What's the Google News market share? Less than 10 percent? And newspaper content is of near zilch importance to general search.
  20. That should read: If all newspapers pulled out of Google, would anybody notice?
