  16. @gcwright The Coinage Act of 1792 fixed the monetary unit of the US as the silver "dollar" - a measure of 371.25 grains of pure silver
  17. @gcwright Yes, but it does indicate what the Constitution considers 2 B $$. Section 8 grants 2 Congress right 2 coin $$, not FRN's
  18. @gcwright Article 1, Section 8 of the Const. grants to Congress the power to coin money and Section 10 allows only silver and gold as money
  19. @gcwright Yes, I got that the FED can do that. But what about the Constitutional mandate that the federal government has that power?
  20. Why does our government borrow money from the Federal Reserve when it has the power to print it's own money?
