First leg done! 4.7 miles. To come? 6.3 hilly miles @ about 2 am and 3.7 flat miles tomorrow afternoon. Verdict so far? This is HARD. Srsly.

We're off now, van #2. Van #1 with six folks left at 8 am & are almost halfway through. I don't run until 130 so am just waiting. Nervous!
Wow. "Little cabin in the woods" turned out to be a gorgeous house on the water outside of La Conner. Sweet! Pre-race dinner begins soon.
Just got food on the way up to our home base cabin - spent less than $10 for pizza, 2 kinds of fruit, water, & bread. Wow. Huh. Go, WinCo!
P.S. I'll be posting twitters throughout the run, so if you want to see how I handle a 6.3 mile hilly run at approx. 2:30 a.m., stay tuned.
About to leave to prepare for this: http://tinyurl.com/5ju8vd Freaking out a little; hard to distinguish between nerves and excitement.
I love my team. DLF is at Noc Noc watching mommacherry and other pretty ladies dance on poles. They are bendy. And pretty. Go, momma, go!
Jen says I left out the most important part of the story: it was a random PIRATE eyepatch. Which totally worked; I wore it all the way home.
My contact ripped and I was getting dizzy using just one. Solution: random eye patch from a friend's bag, . Go figure!
My contact ripped and I was getting dizzy using just one. Solution: random eye patch from a friend's bag, a temporary fix. Go figure!
Very entertaining crazy lady on bus today. Stream-of-consciousness rambling re: politics, Bush, the bus, & science projects. Wow.
The 13-year-old me would have just thrilled a little at receiving a Save the Polar Bears mass-mailed letter ... from Leonardo DiCaprio. Woo!
Happy day. Little red iPod accidentally drowned in juice has been safely resurrected. Whew.
Irony might be something like reading a book by a food critic over a lunch of $0.10 instant ramen noodles. Sodium-packed and delicious.
On the collar tag of the neighborhood kitty who just came out to greet me on my walk home: "I'm friendly, not lost." Aw. So cute!
Quick! Am babysitting and don't remember the words to "This Little Piggie". Went to market? Stayed home? What else? Would be awful parent.
Trying to remember a link I saw the other day -- a site to make instant collages of stuff you like on the internet and share 'em. Any ideas?
Continuing the bathroom reviews: Daniel's Broiler? Not as fancy as you'd think. U-Village has 'em beat. Father-daughter dinner: fantastic.
It finally feels like it might be summer for more than ten minutes at a time. Bring on the sunscreen.
Worst part about Twitter? Inability to retroactively correct typos. Boo hiss. I strive to be typo-free like @girlkate http://snurl.com/2k7or
