  1. 2 spills on my shirt by 8 am this morning. At least I had the sense to check my fly before I left the house. So, it could have been worse.
  2. Still, totally THRILLED Phil Ivey made the final table at WSOP Main Event. Rode the short stack all day. 7th in chips. Ivey IS the MAN!
  3. Friends & colleagues congratulating me on Phil Ivey making the November Nine at the WSOP Main Event. Like I had anything to do with it.
  4. Concluding a multi-day thread, today's word is "hallux," the formal name for the big toe. The big toe doesn't get the respect it deserves.
  5. 15th is flea medicine day, when we feign nonchalance to lull the cats into thinking we only want to pet them, then splooge them with goo.
  6. As a youngster, worked on TV ad directed by Bob Giraldi of the infamous Pepsi shoot where MJ's hair caught fire. Makes me 2 degrees away...
  7. A recent portmanteau I encountered is "freemium." Think, FREE web content, with a subscription price for preMIUM features.
  8. Lumbar disk. Precancer nose splotch (got froze). Bunion. Knee. Bad eyes, going worse.. Getting older only ever beats the alternative.
  9. X-RAYS!
  10. A portmanteau is NOT Natalie's hallux. Rather, it's a blended word made from 2 others, but not as in a contraction. See tomorrow's word...
  11. My friend Andy thought the word was "tommy-tom." Really, "automaton" is a mechanical contrivance with its own internal motorvation. Robot.
  12. As much fun as I had in Vegas, really missed my wife this weekend. Used to fly all over Asia for weeks at a time. I am become wuss (sigh).
  13. Okay, 3 day Vagas trip results: 4 tournaments, no cash, highest finish 11th. Best thing: watching Phil Ivey play in the WSOP Main Event.
  14. Today's word is equanimity. A steady, balanced emotional state. What poker players lose along with their money.
  15. Playing in the 7pm tournament at Caeser's Palace. Usually, an excellent and well-attended event. Go, me!
  16. Turns out I can get up after sitting cross-legged! It's just not very graceful. AT ALL.
  17. One away from the money...
  18. Discovered that I can still sit cross-legged at my age. Hope to God I can get up!
  19. Watching Hachem (2005) and Eastgate (2008) at other featured table at WSOP Main Event.
  20. Whew! Just managed to dodge an ESPN interview. I HATE that kind of publicity!
