  1. And I'm done. My #nanowrimo count topped out at 50,442 words, and somehow the ending even made sense. Normal service can now be resumed.
  2. @remotevoices Just sat down for the final push on #nanowrimo with less than 2500 words to go. Want to finish tonight!
  3. @MarcusduSautoy I think genius has many vectors, such as creativity, intelligence & ability to communicate - Turing was one, Bach another.
  4. Re: http://tinyurl.com/ylnwn35 best quote: "If your kid hasn't eaten its own weight in dirt by the time it's 3, it probably won't make it."
  5. @bictaker And don't forget the sparrowhawk drowning a magpie. That's not something you see on TV every day. Amazing. #autumnwatch
  6. @edgarwright They're remaking Gerry Anderson's UFO? Dear God no, no, no, a thousand times no. Ed Bishop must be spinning in his grave.
  7. [Gave me much-needed laugh, thanks...] RT @minifig: Nice to see a bar that knows its market: http://bit.ly/07rvkSB
  8. Back from East Anglia. I have now moved from the part of my life where parents look after me to the bit where I look after them. So tired.
  9. Think Horizon comments will have to go in a blog tonight - too much to condense down into 140 characters.
  10. Pity the programme itself stank, though.
  11. Was that math rock superstars #Battles I heard playing on @alandavies1 's Horizon last night? Excellent choice of music.
  12. @neilhimself ta for the JCC link, ace! Saw him live in Manchester many years ago. Support were the Duritti Column. Those were the days...
  13. The recent storms helped a couple of utterly crazy kite surfers fulfil their goal of jumping over Worthing Pier: http://tinyurl.com/yjanjnd
  14. LRO images Apollo 11 landing site - right down to the tracks left by Armstrong and Aldrin: http://tinyurl.com/yaksku7 [amazing picture!]
  15. @Gromit01 That's from the ground up. A bang every ten seconds, yield increasing with altitude. It would have been one hell of a sight.
  16. Freeman Dyson: "Fallout from every Project Orion launch would have killed 10 to 100 people, which was unacceptable." Curse you, physics!
  17. @Glinner Yes, but if you put a Mexican moustache on *anyone* they turn into Nick Cave. I give you exhibit A: http://tinyurl.com/yj7dbcd
  18. Every time I see Project Orion's "Hot Rod" demonstrator my jaw hits the floor. The damn thing would have worked...
  19. New Dr Who tonight, then BBC Four showing "To Mars by A-bomb". The amazing true story of Freeman Dyson's idea for nuke-powered spacecraft!
  20. Thanks to @BlueSprint for letting me know the Cat Man Do guy has a book out, and a very funny website: http://bit.ly/49teTa
