  1. Clearly we must all go to Madagascar where we will be safe from #swineflu!
  2. I'm always looking for shortcuts, so I must give props to this http://bit.ly/17VYqB. It greatly sped up my getting a remote git repo set up
  3. i feel wrong for leaning towards git because of github.com, instead of the tool itself
  4. was running errands when the #tornado sirens went off. I didn't have my radio scanner to listen to the chasers. I hate it when that happens.
  5. when i thoroughly trashed my django project recently, I didn't put any changes into mercurial... now I'm back to thinking mercurial vs. git
  6. load is back up to 30+. I think this means, that I'll be investigating other non-shared hosting options soon
  7. unsurprisingly, now that load is down to 0.X, my site is responding just fine. I think the honeymoon's over with the shared hosting
  8. well, this sure has me rethinking my whole plan of switching to shared hosting so that I wouldn't have to deal with server headaches
  9. looks like server load's spiking... of course, I have no idea what is normal for this shared box. 30 seems pretty high though
  10. I thought the reason I went with shared hosting was so I wouldn't have to mess with this stuff
  11. meh, the slowness still seems to be happening... I switch to postgresql this time around.. time to start randomly throwing blame, yay
  12. well, I just got smacked for bad deployment practices. I copied .pyc files from the dev box and production started choking big time
  13. hurray, nothing broke too much... "tomorrow" I'll work on converting to postgresql.... maybe
  14. hurray, everything done... ish... enough for now. Now to upload it to the production server and break it!
  15. I'm worried about the long term ramifications of hardcoding links to my s3 content, but I think it makes more sense right now for my method
  16. meh... having such a hard time trying to tame my focus and get this web app rebuild done. Far too many disciplines to draw upon.
  17. yay to knowledge! http://code.djangoproject.c...
  18. props to this guide, http://tinyurl.com/cyux7r. I finally have the server up. Until I blow it away again.
  19. going for lucky #4 on the reinstalls
  20. what is with all these twitter drive-bys? twitter tells me I have a new follower but by the time I log in, they're already gone.
