  1. @dustinrue Hard to say w/o seeing your config, I'd ask on solr-user@lucene.apache.org and give examples if you can
  2. @dustinrue Have you eliminated the DB queries as the bottleneck? Are you using the DataImportHandler?
  3. @dustinrue I'd say it does, 2M entries is not very many. Are you sending docs in batches and multithreaded? How are you indexing?
  4. Just added new, faster matrix capabilities to Apache Mahout, now working on integrating. Look for them in 0.3
  5. @dustinrue yes
  6. Apache Tika 0.5 out, Apache Solr (Solr Cell) updated to use: http://bit.ly/4KJ3MW
  7. @arthegall +1 on the docs. As they say, patches welcome!
  8. Fun with Apache Solr functions: http://bit.ly/4wkZx0
  9. @arthegall Yeah, takes a little getting used to, but once you do, they are quite nice. Lots of examples in contrbi/analyzers
  10. References on comparing query scores across searches (i.e. what Lucene's queryNorm() method attempts to do) would be greatly appreciated
  11. Intro to Solr/Lucene Geospatial article draft just finished, keep an eye here for a publication URL
  12. @jpatanooga I don't personally, but I'd ask on mahout-user@lucene.apache.org
  13. @revbingo patches welcome! Seriously, feedback on how to improve the API's is most appreciated on java-dev@lucene.apache.org
  14. @joe_kim http://bit.ly/lucid-local
  15. @jpatanooga welcome to Maven! But yeah, we do have a few dependencies!
  16. webinar on geo search over, see slides, etc. at http://bit.ly/lucid-local. Great to hear how Voyager GIS and ATT Interactive are using Solr
  17. Apple and Lucene/Solr via Daily Finance: http://bit.ly/3r2CTi
  18. @tsmarsh in other words, don't believe the FUD.
  19. @tsmarsh I hear you on MySQL v. Oracle, but I've seen both Lucene and Solr scale to billions of documents in prod. with large query volume
  20. Not too late to sign up for today's webinar on geospatial search using Lucene and Solr: http://bit.ly/3fr35S
