  1. Congrats to @coolgates! He's going to work for APM's Public Insight Journalism project in St. Paul. I'll miss his @cunyjschool livestreams.
  2. Also on the verification + Twitter front, @ryansholin reminded me of @ckanal's post, "How to verify a tweet" http://bit.ly/6fTzIj
  3. "It’s about more than just linking – you must add something" (missed this in June; h/t to the author, @andrewspittle) http://bit.ly/7Bk52U
  4. @Journerdism @stevebuttry I included an #irony note at the bottom of my post -- it certainly did smack me in the face as I wrote it :)
  5. @journalistnate Yeah, I've never used the real RT. It just makes an acct seem less human -- initially thought it'd be good to reduce noise.
  6. Thanks, @joemurph @stevebuttry @McKennaEwen @bydanielvictor @Journerdism et al. Other possible title: "Don't share this post" ;)
  7. "Linkbaiting, thinking while linking and why link journalism requires more than just a URL" http://bit.ly/GLlinks
  8. @mpattersonPBP Congrats on that milestone!
  9. Yet another reason why @spsullivan is the master of parody. Regarding silly lists and "iconic journos:" http://bit.ly/6EUGIl
  10. @spsullivan Hahahahaha. Did you make that?
  11. People continue to tweet/RT a list that has no real value http://bit.ly/5UiixD, but it wasn't supposed to anyway -- just get clicks
  12. A TV as a phone? Want: "Skype HD: 720p videocalling from PCs or directly thru LG & Panasonic HDTVs" (via @gotoplanb) http://bit.ly/5Sw7MR
  13. @pilhofer Good stuff. I started learning JS last summer. Haven't really used it yet, but it helped me ease into recently-begun PHP learning.
  14. @sizzlemaker Haha, thanks! @danielpetty Yup, especially b/c of greater perceived authority. But most people in general tweet/RT mindlessly.
  15. If you just search "amber.johnson1983" w/o @gmail.com, you get four results, including another spam message from "her" http://bit.ly/5YZZYB
  16. Email addy search results w quotes gave 1 result http://bit.ly/4HeXih that says amber.johnson1983@gmail.com has been reported for spam (2/2)
  17. Also saw the link sent thru my blog's contact form (didn't click until I saw on Twitter). Just Googled the email address in quotes... (1/2)
  18. @Journerdism Yup. But you don't even need to look at the lack of value in the list to see what's up. OnlineColleges.net? End of story.
  19. @gmarkham I think that's bc it wasn't a list written to offer real value, just get clicks to promote the site (see my previous 3 tweets).
  20. Like others, that site also does 100-item lists of links in the hopes that the listed sites link back to them, inflating their pagerank.
