  1. Off to Clapham to play @robindlaws' D&D Gumshoe game. Pretty unsure about how the investigation meshes with the 4E combat rules.
  2. I made up a game about Victorian magicians in my sleep. That never happens. I needed to find pen and paper before I forgot it.
  3. I must apologise, by the way. I've been quoting from Athene Seyler's The Craft of Comedy and have been spelling her name wrong.
  4. No laugh comes from one person's efforts, but from a line spoken by one and the reactions of others. #athenesayler
  5. @Hans_Otterson What's difficult about it, out of interest?
  6. Melancholy or dejection will put the audience in the wrong mood. Be bubbling with excitement of the fun which is coming. #athenesayler
  7. Comedy is bound up with lack of proportion. It is not concerned with presenting a balanced whole. #athenesayler
  8. Comedy is the sparkle on the water, not the depths beneath: but, note, the waters must run deep beneath. #athenesayler
  9. @lumpleygames That sounds right. GMing is rather a black art and I like the way Apocalypse World begins to break it down. Dogs, too.
  10. @lumpleygames The best thing about Apocalypse World is that it tells the GM exactly when to make moves.
  11. @lumpleygames So it always shows up, but a miss gives the GM permission to fuck with you?
  12. @lumpleygames I like fingers in every pie. What happens if you fail? There's got to be consequence, hasn't there?
  13. Happily searching for 1920s songs.
  14. @FuschiaBegonia Oooh! Palestine! You have to put Palestine in there. Bugger roleplaying games.
  15. @FuschiaBegonia Well, The Sandman series, of course.
  16. @jmstar That was especially for you. The game was fun to write, especially the rhyming Rabbit Magic bits. If it's Pink, something Stinks.
  17. Here is A Hatful Of Rabbits, my hastily-written game for children. It has Rabbit Magic and silly drawings. http://bit.ly/4ZSSXd
  18. @RobinDLaws Is there any chance you could bring some across? Steve likes runny cheese. So do I.
  19. @RyanMacklin It's true. You don't look like a smoker. I wonder why.
  20. @ndpaoletta What would that be about, Nathan?
