  1. Still 27 degrees here at www.giteducalme.com
  2. I planted where the carrots and potatoes were, cabbage, brocolli and winter lettuce and where the carrots were, celery, fingers crossed!!
  3. Last night I dug up my potatoes and I had 150 potatoes, we have carrots small but delicious, loads of cucumbers and tomatoes
  4. The two girls love the pool, trampoline and the babminton.
  5. Our clients at the moment are from Durham, 6 adults and two kids have rented the self catering Gite for 2 weeks.
  6. Swam there in the river and the water was so fresh and nice and stayed there for ages then went to tea at Daisy's friends house.
  7. After that drove up river to 'Moulin de la Bain' a restaurant and cafe on an old water mill where they have created a mini beach
  8. Moored up at the river side cafe and played in the park had a plate of chips then ice cream, then she pedalled me back, it was fab.
  9. Its been over 30 degrees everyday, lovely, took Daisy on a pedalo on the Charente river she did all the pedalling, 5 years old and strong!

  13. We are going to the beautiful port of La Rochelle today to drink and meander around the fabulous boutiques, sales are on!
  14. The eggs are delicious and they produce their own honey also which is the best I have tasted.
  15. In true French style the local farmers certainly like to hide their wealth! They find it sooo funny, when working to look poor!
  16. This 'ol girl is one of the most influential farm owners and grape growers in our village.
  17. Yesterday we had fresh farm eggs delivered from the 'ol girl in dirty Bermuda shorts and t/shirt on a 1940's motorbike!
  18. and deliver it to my house, he said no problem!! We carried on with our cycle and when we got home he had put it outside our gate.
  19. I thought I could attach it to my bike but could not, then a car passed and I flagged it down and asked this guy if he could put it in h ...
  20. Yesterday Daisy and I went for a cycle, and outside a house we passed was a fab kids tractor with a 'Free' sign.
