  1. Writing a highlight for Nature Reviews Genetics, and using handy guide by @betsymason to be sure I avoid quantum leap, shedding light, etc.
  2. @michaelhoffman Sorry, should have been more specific. Regular papers MUST have supp info, but brief comm's used to be not allowed SI.
  3. Agree w/@dgmacarthur on Economist article. Take some solace myself in fact that Nature not mentioned as the home for any old GWAS. :)
  4. @Berci same as with all other complex diseases: defining subphenotypes and quantitative measures to even begin genomics.
  5. Reading a Brief Comm in Nat Biotech with 6X more supp info than actual paper pages. Back in *my* day we didn't allow that tomfoolery!
  6. Squeee! The defunct Circuit City on Hwy 72 will be replaced with @earthfare store!
  7. Thankful for living in a town with so many volunteers that I was turned away from working at the downtown rescue mission, twice!
  8. @SarahLena which Target do you frequent? University Dr or Jones Valley?
  9. Stopped for some BBQ in Birmingham, on way home from ATL. Parts of I20 west nightmarish but busiest airport in world actually not so bad.
  10. @7T1 write to the journal and tell them the data aren't available. Most likely violates journal policy.
  11. Amused to see another mosaic on the cover of Nature, after I was told we had sworn those off...if anyone merits a mosaic, definitely Darwin!
  12. @Amanda_Rudelt Thanks! Will certainly try the incantations. Perhaps "sacrifice" some chocolate to Asphalta at the same time.
  13. OK Atlanta tweeps: what are the chances of me finding a spot in hourly parking at ATL tomorrow afternoon? Zero, or infinitesimal?
  14. @noahWG Absolutely, one of many fallacies in the arguments presented there.
  15. @etaKylimE Was just thinking of you this morning! Will email you in Facebook. But no, not tonight, you have to study!
  16. Two job openings at Harvard School of Public Health for asst or assoc profs of biostatistics http://is.gd/524RJ (via John Quackenbush)
  17. @caruanascott what, like they've never seen snot before??
  18. @ritajlg hee hee hee, my child is small; I don't yet see how I will develop the Mom abilities you mentioned but understand it's inevitable.
  19. @noahWG Holy cow re attack piece on Nature eds. She clearly doesn't know more eds are women. Or how easy it is to guess authors of papers.
  20. RT @genomicslawyer: Intrvw w/Eric Green, new Dir of NHGRI by @patsycat21RT @NatureNews:Diagnosing the future of genomics http://ff.im/-bTzSY
