  2. Today is the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and I am thinking of that night, watching the emotion and joy of it on TV.
  3. Climbed the Aventino and walked among the beautiful Giardino degli Aranci today, dodging a tour group on Segways.....sheesh.

  9. I'm packing to return to Italy for two weeks. Funny feeling. When I was in the hospital, I thought I would never be there again. Yay.

  12. First day back at work post-flu. Pleased that a dessert conceived in fever-induced delirium actually turned out pretty great! Hmmm...
  13. TV food-eating challenges are disturbing. Cause I know what it does to your heart rate, blood pressure, lungs, stomach...and its not good.

  17. In to work early, out late, no TV, trapped in a kitchen - I missed the kid/balloon fiasco entirely. Whatevs, as the kids say.
  18. I did the final event of my busy fall season - Autism Speaks. An amazing gathering of chefs. Great cause, great to see everyone. Full heart!

  20. Truly enjoyed my dinner @ Apiary in the E. Village. My friend Scott Bryan is such a great chef. One of NYC's best, ever.
