  1. Nailed it : "The Gervais Principle, Or The Office According to "The Office"" http://bit.ly/PHGos
  2. Reading "The Gervais Principle II: Posturetalk, Powertalk, Babytalk and Gametalk" http://bit.ly/3J3QOr
  3. @jeresig Why isn't the Apache License sufficient?
  4. @authorizenet Cust service says "everything is fine" with random prod failures and constant test failures. I guess everything is fine.
  5. @mjasay Wasn't Sun's business in absolute shambles before that? I mean, isn't that the reason that JIS sold it on the cheap?
  6. @AuthorizeNet : are you down? prod and test keep getting connection resets
  7. partitioning hint o' the day : start servername ordinals at 0 rather than 1. Programmers start at 0, so you avoid "server1 is node 0"
  8. Must again give kudos to Tuffmail - rock-steady, reliable IMAP provider with great service. Would have been a blog post, but I twit now...
  9. Mark Benioff at Structure 09 : MSFT's cloud "Azune"
  10. In SF for Structure 09. Got in last night, collapsed. Missed the PEER1 dinner and CloudCamp. Alas. Leaving fri, ping to get together
  11. Capistrano or Vlad for scale. Anyone with experience?

  13. @wangweij I guess he had no choice since that's the vehicle via which the lack of a JSR for Java 7 is being avoided :) Much less than 2008
  14. AA equipment SwapFail : 767-200 -> 767-300 == no interweb in the air. Alas
  15. We also just heard the first mention of "cloud" at #JavaOne in a keynote. Anyone else notice the lack of cloud sessions here? :)
  16. A wag noted that MSFT's and Sun's mention of Stonehenge was the first real mention of FLOSS in a keynote at #JavaOne. Very diff from 2008
  17. Clearly the end of an era at #JavaOne - watching a MSFT keynote, where they include stuff from an Apache project.
  18. Question for Mark during his #javaone tech keynote - what about OSGI?
  19. Words to fear : " we replaced your 767 with a 757..."
  20. Off to the chieftain so greg can provide a manhattan
