  1. Trying out xbox Twitter client. I need a keyboard. Badly.
  2. How many XenApp users doing lite office work fit on an HP BL460c? I have a client that tested up to 100 - sound crazy to you?
  3. I am now fascinated by thermoacoustic refrigeration; no compressors or CFCs. Not yet big enough for DCs, but read more at www.coolsound.us
  4. This Microsoft/T-Mobile meltdown is a perfect example of why businesses will move to cloud-based apps very cautiously.
  5. Why don't more people use Streambaby for their TiVo? Fantastic server app for real-time streaming from your video library.
  6. Joined our Enterprise Architecture team as the infrastructure guy. Data ctrs and virtualization will be key, but adding lots of new topics.
  7. Researching UK data center growth and power trends - and eating pie.
  8. @Staten7 I remain impressed by VMware's ability to keep pushing the envelope, as well as coming up with more must-have features.
  9. RT @dougwashburn: Does anyone know any cloud/colocation/outsourcing providers who offer customers ability to purchase carbon offsets?
  10. @rwang0 My VZ BBerry has GSM&CDMA, and has solid coverage. 4G is coming to BOS, but I don't think VZ yet sells a phone that uses it.
  11. RT @Staten7: There's more to VMware's SpringSource acquisition than you think. http://bit.ly/BNIEd
  12. According to Cisco, the Nexus 1000v handles switching btween directly attached VMs. Why do I keep hearing otherwise? HP? http://bit.ly/MXLym
  13. I/O Virtualization - next big thing or big nothing? I've been having trouble convincing some collegues that it matters. Maybe it's me.
  14. Where can I get clarification on the Cisco UCS and Nexus 1000v routing inter-VM traffic thru a physical switch? I don't get it.
  15. @Staten7 I really like the visibility that SpringSource/Hyperic will bring to VMware. VMW needs more smarts about the contents of VMs.
  16. Aren't proprietary cloud or other dynamic environments fine for now? They provide more integration, & I bet there's no demand for stds yet.
  17. @Fountnhead I think integrated server and virtual IO solutions necessarily/justifiably proprietary, since there just aren't standards yet.
  18. Met with Liquid Computing today - similar in concept to HP's Matrix, Cisco UCS, or Egenera. Claim to be the "openest" - will it be enough?
  19. Working on an application for my Arduino microcontroller. Linux is great, but I love getting back to basics with open source hardware.
  20. @krmarko Thx for the suggestion. As an aside, I wish more firms used someone like PTS for data center projects. Most take a DIY approach.
