  1. Whole family participating in Sleep Out Saturday for the homless in DuPage county. Great for kids to experience a rally at a young age!
  2. Dylan sorted his skittles by color and then preceded to eat from the pile with the most followed by some color precedence. Just like me.
  3. Went to school district presentation on elementary gifted program. I now realize there will be many disappointed parents over the years.
  4. Andrea watched 10-min calculus video: http://bit.ly/4BEEYK (via @danielpunkass) and then fell asleep. Like father like daughter.
  5. Transformed classroom for Halloween Demo Day! Ruben's tube, walking on glass, ping pong cannon, bed of nails, smoke bubbles, LEDs, and more!
  6. Apple rejected (maybe? not exactly clear) my iPhone app. Surprised since so many other apps do what was cited as the reason for my rejection
  7. Dylan asking for a drink at dinner: "Bloody Mary, please!" (He later explained he had heard the word but not the info that goes with it.)
  8. Dylan likes to help out his kindergarden teacher. After he finishes his homework, he corrects it and grades it. Apparently, he earned a B+
  9. @SummerWorkation I attended the Chicago Section AAPT meeting where Dr. TJ Jeong led a workshop: 4mW diode laser & holographic plate; easy!
  10. I made the most amazing hologram today. I can't wait to try it in my classroom!
  11. Flowers from @CarolynSchmit for our 10th wedding anniversary! Yes, my wife buys me flowers! http://yfrog.com/0g2ibj
  12. Amazing slideshow of "Traveling Through Time and Stars" from @seedmag: http://bit.ly/5wa5x
  13. I don't remember when exactly NetNewsWire added "Undo Close Tab", but boy do I love that feature! (Safari, are you listening?)
  14. Dramatically underestimated students' ability to solve systems of equations. Me: try dividing one equation by the other. Them: blank stare
  15. Incredible video of high-speed robotics: dribbling balls, spinning pens, and throwing & catching a cell phone. http://bit.ly/sUluO via @make
  16. Imagine how this could help physics students struggling to visualize problems: http://bit.ly/349H8L I love how you stop/start the simulation
  17. Finally submitted my first iPhone app. Building and "shipping" an app without running it is rather unsettling. I feel dirty.
  18. "The Application Name that you provided has already been used. Please provide a unique Application Name" How the hell was I suppose to know?
  19. student goes home and declares intention to be an aeronautical engineer after teleconference with engineer. @jgvanides:mission accomplished
  20. Dylan learning we're headed to Home Depot: "Good! I need 4 sheets of stainless steel for my robot!" Me: "What?" Dylan: "Just small sheets."
