  1. RT @chrisblizzard: Trying to start a new tradition: the weekend after thanksgiving? Pajamas only.
  2. @chrisblizzard: valiant effort, worth a retweet! (:
  3. @dohbee: Good question. I buy quite a bit of software & music; would be hypocritical if not, as I do creative things & make software.
  4. absolutely beautiful, visual story about food in the US: http://bit.ly/7CivBN (a must read)
  5. @federicomena: under normal circumstances, yes. (;
  6. @federicomena: Thankfully, we finally got the Mac, and then later, Linux (after installing a new ATI driver) working.
  7. @federicomena: My Thinkpad is at home currently, and I didn't drag my Linux workstation up there. I brought a Mac, & we had VGA<->DVI probs.
  8. @federicomena: this was due to driver issues, X issues, and some program written in Qt (YaST? KDE?) w/ a bad UI. #FAIL across the board.
  9. @cschum: yes, it's great — & more than just a nice touch too. UIs feel much more solid when things don't magically appear & disappear.
  10. ...actually, I use UTF-8 art at times too, @ebassi
  11. I also make ASCII art in Bugzilla at times. (:
  12. the design work I don't do on paper (or first in my head), I do on in Inkscape on Linux, mainly.
  13. This Mac laptop I'm using here at work is a company laptop. I'm not "the Mac guy". I use Linux too! (:
  14. @dmacvicar I'm not the Mac guy. I just happen to have a Mac here in the office. (It's a work computer.) My workstation & Thinkpad run Linux.
  15. this meeting could easily be called "projector follies"
  16. @stephgraeber: Oh, that's what I've been missing lately! Red wine! Perhaps that will encourage the special effects department in my head.
  17. Last night's dream featured really bad special effects. You'd think there'd be no budget constraints. Is the economy to blame? (:
  18. @photojunkie: I don't know if $101 cheaper is worth it, if Apple is going to release new models soon... http://bit.ly/90rQsp
  19. @photojunkie: Yes, similar needs here. I went from a 15" PB to a 1st-gen MBP, maxed out at 2GB RAM. Also feeling compelled to upgrade.
  20. @photojunkie: it depends on your needs. The iMac would be more powerful, whereas the MacBook Pro would be more portable. (:
