  1. Oh, and Apple, among your sins? Making iTunes launch when you press Play/Pause in Snow Leopard is completely fucken criminal. Shame on you.
  2. @wellfutile Hm well... either it's the latest version of VMware (AND Parallels, which I d/led) or Windows 7. Will try XP when I get home!
  3. @wellfutile BTW, while you were using VMware did you have audio glitching, or were you able to play audio smoothly in the virtual machine?
  4. @wellfutile Since I use Thunderbird/Firefox etc, there's very little change in my app use - except foobar2000, which is irreplaceable.
  5. @wellfutile Songbird looks like an iTunes-like alternative to iTunes though. I want a foobar2000-like alternative to iTunes.
  6. Have d/led Parallels 5 and will see tomo whether audio (incl foobar2000) works without glitches. If so, will buy & get VMware money back!
  7. OK, I have Cog, a simple OSX music player, working, and foobar2000 works in Darwine (but doesn't play CDs). So can play mp3s on the MacBook.
  8. Oh man, why is iTunes so ugly and so SHIT? And why is VMware Fusion 3.0 not playing nice with my audio? Bah humbug!
  9. Richard Avedon exhibition @SFMOMA was pretty amazing. Striking & natural portraits of people famous & non.
  10. Yesterday I ticked off most of the rest of my CD list @ Amoeba & Aquarius. SF = true rekkid haven. Most old Busdriver still evades me tho.
  11. At SFMOMA. We saw Maurice Sendak @ Contemp Jewish Museum. Making very authentic pasta carbonara tonite w/ pig jowl! Weather is great, go SF!
  12. Oh Sydney, the weather sounds TERRIBLE over there. And here we're wearing coats & gloves.
  13. So weird. Why would anyone share just Downtown Nudnik, & in wma format? And who would've filed a DMCA complaint about it? http://is.gd/50HLK
  14. @LukeSnarl In Windows it's a direct jump to the particular window you want, that's all.
  15. @LukeSnarl Um... for the reasons outlined in my last tweet? They're absolutely *not* different things. A window's a window.
  16. @LukeSnarl i.e. no way of going directly from the Thunderbird compose window to Firefox window #2 and then to Thunderbird's main window...
  17. @LukeSnarl Windows' alt-tab behaviour is much better.
  18. @LukeSnarl Yep, which means using a different kbd combo within apps and outside apps, plus no preview of where you're going.
  19. (Dear followers, prepare for a torrent of "Why Macs suck" tweets over the next decade, now I have one of them...)
  20. @LukeSnarl Worse is the stupid fucking application switcher that doesn't let you change between *windows*, just applications. BAH.
