  1. Getting ready to go see the Karsh exhibit.
  2. At least it's not tornado land.
  3. OMG. "Severe thunderstorm watch" + migraineur = blithering panic. Glad I finished what I *had* to do today already.
  4. Actor design trade-offs: http://bit.ly/kAjwg
  5. @mjduigou Yeah, job hunting is no fun. Getting a recruiter to help to cut down on noise, though (hopefully.) Ack.
  6. @stomp_rasta Yes, except someone else on our team pointed out Opera Unite is clumsier than Oponia's ucaster was. Will have to think and blog
  7. Re: Opera Unite: Oponia was browser agnostic, zero config, drag & drop sharing. Ppl didn't want to leave their 'puters on. :-b
  8. So Opera Unite is basically what Oponia did. The world yawned, saying: we want everything in "the cloud." (i.e. hosted by Google) Won't fly.
  9. @rreefke O frak me.
  10. Just applied for two jobs and feel emotionally drained by the experience!
  11. @stomp_rasta Yes, I have that book (well, the online version, anyway.) It was invaluable on my latest project.

  13. I'd like to read Brian Goetz's blog, but it keeps throwing up malware warnings! *sigh* Not sure how seriously to take these. Bummer.
  14. @paulhart Wonder what the "niche" board for Groovy jobs is, then ;-)
  15. On two well-known job sites, the words "Ruby", "Rails", Groovy", and "Grails" all return zero results. Unexpected.
  16. @origama Thanks, I'll check that out. I knew there would be a way to use LinkedIn to find job listings somehow!
  17. The most recent Java jobs on monster.ca are from 2006. Oh. Kay.
  18. RT @ruv Forbes > If The Clouds Burst http://bit.ly/hyO7Z
  19. RT @elpie @jamie_love @Andrew_Rens @glynmoody: Keep the Libel Laws out of Science - http://bit.ly/YuU6y (UK, but important generally)
