  1. @piykumar RMS approved of the term FOSS (and F/LOSS) to include Free software. Our motto "Technology for a Free World" says it better :)
  2. @abhi2point0 >>FOSS is about Free & Open Source _Software_ - and _someone_ needs to write that ;) There are other events for advocacy
  3. @abhi2point0 We do subscribe to the principles of Free Software, but OUR focus is on the Software (actually - tech) part >>
  4. @abhi2point0 >>We'd like to work with the media to help them understand this & give their readers/viewers an interesting, but factual story
  5. @abhi2point0 Nope - pre_DE_FUD. Most media treat FOSS as something political/radical. It is about technology, not religion >>
  6. @artagnon Contentwise it has to be complete, formatting can be revised
  7. Speakers will receive mail tonight about slide submission, updates, etc.
  8. @abhi2point0 Hokay, dat we can afford :P Seriously: we will send you guys writeups & would love to work with you to create a good story
  9. We are looking for a source for USB-connected label printers - to print on 3"-4" wide adhesive labels from Linux. Any pointers?
  10. @Dusual Stay tuned, working on that as we speak
  11. @rajivmakhni That makes sense, of course. One will need guidance, though, because we work with technologies, not products :)
  12. @vinayind Also Palm Pre, Nokia/Maemo and maybe even Android. But from the developer perspective, not user-side
  13. Many companies would benefit from their employees attending FOSS.IN, but their HR depts. need to hear about the event. How?
  14. @vinayind That sounds like a good idea. Does anyone know whom to ping at which Radio stations? FOSS.IN is both a tech & a human story
  15. @vinayind We're a community-driven event - we can't _tell_ anyone to do anything, can only hope that they _volunteer_ to do it, proactively
  16. Wondering what it would take to get @RajivMakhni, @Abhi2point0 and other tech-savvy TV folks to cover FOSS.IN & its goals
  17. @ideamonk We have good friends in the media, who have always been very generous with writeups and coverage. We are banking on them!
  18. Check out the registration stats: http://foss.in/2009/stats
  19. Awareness about FOSS.IN in Bangalore city is teh_suck this year. More people from outside! Suggest how to reach more people here! (No ads)
  20. Team FOSS.IN Sunday morning meeting done - tons of venue & logistics related stuff covered. After 9 years - no more coupons to lose! :)
