  2. another speed improvement for folkd.com by enabling proper gzip/deflate ... it didn't work correctly
  3. We tweeked the speed a bit - turns out there were a lot of unnecessary DNS lookups when our servers talked to each other

  14. tweeked and improved some algorithms ... data processing time reduced from "infinity" to "just far too long" ... ;)
  15. hmm... we clearly have to optimize some parts of the system. data volume really gets out of hand and update cycles get longer.
  16. Changed URL handling not to convert URLs to lower case anymore -> caused some trouble at some websites. TNX @BILD_DE for #bugreport
  17. dammit - the server doesn't like mondays .. maybe the downtime has to do something with our weekly update jobs ..hmm....*digging into code*

  19. UTF-8 Bug again responsible for the downtime ... fixed some issues in encoding - hopefully this will help :-/
