  14. LAST Vermillion Farmers Market of the season today from 3-7pm. It's also a LAMB week--stock your freezer & pantry w/ local meat & produce
  15. This Saturday 6-7:30 Farmers Market Harvest Dinner at the Extension Hall. And don't forget our LAST market of the season this Thursday 3-7pm
  16. After raking a zillion tons of leaves from the backyard, I look up 2 my enormous cottonwood & realize it's still waiting 2 drop 1/2 of them.
  17. Today is drying leeks and pear tomatoes, tackling the home gardens clean-up, maybe even making pies from my Neck Pumpkins and apples.
  18. Never seen a crop so time-consuming 2 clean as celeriac. But now I have a tub of clean hoary roots 2 roast w/ carrots & parsnips. Root soup?
  19. To dig the leeks and parsnips or leave them in a while longer? More rain and snow projected in the next couple of days....
  20. Vermillion's annual Chili Blues Cook-off tonight. Ours is full of local chilis, tomatoes, garlic, onions. House smells great!
