  2. In the middle of breakfast service for our B&B guests. I made tiny apple pies this a.m. Kinda feels like fall.
  3. (I know 7 p.m. and evening are redundant. My thoughts were already at the Marktplatz and potential goodies. Sorry.)
  4. Don't forget...it's Thursday in FBG and the Farmers' Market is underway until 7 p.m. this evening. I'm heading out as soon as figs are done.
  5. Making another batch of fig preserves. These figs are beauties. Tree's first year to produce. Every day I told it, "Big figs." Worked. Yeah!
  6. Home again, huzzah. These 6 words on cafe menu represent everything that's wonderful & awful about LA: "proprietary recipe for water & ice"
  7. I'm currently in LA -- contemplating dinner w/ friends. Great way to celebrate my bday. Not as hot here, but hills are on fire. Literally.
  8. Lunch yesterday in SA w/ best pal Em. Il Sogno at Pearl complex. Excellent antipasti, great service, very reasonable prices. Worth the trip.
  9. Figs finally ripened -- huge, delicious, picture-perfect. Sliced w/ touch of cream - heavenly. It only took 3 yrs for our tree to produce.
  10. Going to Benefit tonite for Austin Sustainable Food Center: Boggy Creek Farm Feast + screening of film FEAST. Will share details after.
  11. AM horoscope says perfection not attainable today -- last 2 tweets prove it. I DO know adj. other than "tasty": yummy, delish & flavorful.
  12. Still 100°+ days. Garden's sad, BUT (drum roll, pls.) fig tree is finally producing. Big, juicy brown figs - racing birds to get 'em. Tasty!
  13. Wow! It's been dishes since I tweeted. World's been too much w/ us. Celebrated Julia's bday w/ French class on Sat. Lots of fun & tasty!

  15. Just attended Twitter presentation. Love to tweet. My fave is composing messages that are exactly 140 characters long. It is a challenge.
  16. Guest Chef appearance at FBG Farmers' Market was fun. Met many people and sampled herbed cookies and agua fresca (recipe on our website).
  17. Making fig preserves. Sister's tree in SA was loaded; mine will be ripe in a few weeks. Don't know if I'll enter any in co. fair this yr.
  18. Had spicy pecan halves that were little sticky, so dusted them w/ Valrona cocoa powder. Winner! Store in air-tight container, if they last.
  19. Gourmet Chili Pepper and Salsa Festival 2009 at Wildseed Farms this weekend. 6 Flavors Over Texas Cooking class tomorrow. Sign up today!
