  1. Friday is key date at school - must get planning rock solid
  2. Great evening with the Scouts - wide game at Hesley. Good news for weekend - we now have four for expedition.
  3. Understand that one of my good friends is getting drunk on whisky to get rid of a cold. Feel I should follow suit in a show of solidarity.
  4. @deanwatkin Whisky! That and Lemsip. Maybe a few less meetings and stress.
  5. Gold Cup at Low Catton near York. Great pub with marvellous good.
  6. @marcusbrig Don't forget that tea must also include biscuits - bring 'em on!
  7. In Blacks in York - working out best way to spend less with buy one get one half price offer. Better discount than Cotswold if used right.
  8. In York. Using park and ride - very cold.
  9. @deanwatkin oh dear! I suggest rest and loads of DVDs. Cups of tea are good as well.
  10. @deanwatkin pull yourself together! After saying that you looked a bit rough when you got back to school. Rest and be strong.
  11. Modern heroes for Britain. Apart from footballers and celebraties what have we got? 100 years ago we had Shackleton et al!!
  12. At a talk by Adele Pennington (first British woman to climb Everest twice). A Brit who had achieved something but not got the recognition!!
  13. Wondering what makes people unhappy? miserable? depressed? Why is it the people who give the most pleasure are unhappy?(Hancock et al)
  14. What a long day. Absolutely shattered with blinding headache. Now off shopping before going to watch Explorers do Thai Boxing.
  15. Failed to find somewhere to have trophy engraved. Buying ink cartridges to cheer myself up. Life is a little dull at the moment.
  16. All Explorers safely home. Now working on what heroes we have in modern life - are we our own hero?
  17. Explorers are reaching the end of their journey - couple of miles and it'll all be over.
  18. Hesley Wood Scout Camp - weather has improved and at least it's not raining at the moment. Explorers not exactly keen to get going.
  19. Two Explorers have gone home, one Ill and one playing footie tomorrow. All rest are hail and hearty and ready to sing the company song.
  20. Just woken up after good nights sleep in tent. Thinking about friends in Cumbria - wish I was over there to help in some way.
