  1. @rhirsch It's the accretion of a week's worth of part time realizations and reading. Unfortunately, not very structured.
  2. #esme diff sent. Time to go explore Ottawa.
  3. Doing more work on the new/updated #esme API.
  4. @ruinogueira Brilliant! Looking forward to it :-)
  5. @rhirsch Problem is on my end (Maven). I didn't do another checkout. It just didn't build. #esme
  6. @ndahmann Thank you for that point of clarification.
  7. Blah. Maven built #esme offline just fine this morning, but now it's decided it's missing very very very important artifacts :-(
  8. @mbechauf Agreed. I really think we're on the same page. I am waiting for more open-ness and I know you're working towards that.
  9. @mbechauf Only point is to be careful publishing blogs about code ownership when maybe that word doesn't mean the same thing to everyone.
  10. @mbechauf How about sharing of code *not* on SAP Code Exchange? I own the code = I can distribute it on my website. SAP says I can't, right?
  11. @mbechauf That said, I totally support the effort and look forward to its success. I am just trying to point out some significant confusion.
  12. @mbechauf If I "own" the code, that means that I can distribute how I want. Add the fact that SAP doesn't define the limits of it's IP...
  13. @akpetteroe More simply: I think SAP legal holds that I am not allowed to freely distribute ABAP. In that case, I don't (solely) own the IP.
  14. @akpetteroe Mario says "you keep IP on your code". My understanding is that SAP does not believe this to be true in the normal sense.
  15. @ccmehil Agreed, it will be a good step towards clarification and participation, regardless of the license terms.
  16. @akpetteroe @kohlerm @ccmehil Reserving judgement until I see the license. The IP story is not at all clear. Need to read it.
  17. @ruinogueira Excellent! I'm looking forward to it :-)
  18. Responding to OSS message responses from SAP...
  19. @se38 Ah, I see. I must have switched it a long time ago and then forgotten. Thanks :-)
  20. @se38 Doesn't SE80 use the new editor by default now? It's been a couple of months since I've spent much time there. Sorry :-(
