  1. Nice, got a few vESX running on a IBM Blade HS22 (2xXeon 5520 with 48GB). Excellent info at http://bit.ly/gEsew Thanks @eric_gray
  2. @rootwyrm @sakacc @cxi The client did open a call with NetApp. I'll ask the client for feedback. I'm off to other clients now, more vSphere
  3. @sakacc Well tomorrow it's installing vSphere U1 with NS-20's.
  4. @rootwyrm No no, the NetApp filer (30x0) was on 1GbE and running 50MB/s. Client does not have 10GbE.
  5. @sakacc I don't like the protocol war, but nearly every time we talk about NFS, it comes down to 10GbE for better perf. That's $$$$$.
  6. @sakacc But not everyone can afford 10GbE. The switches alone make the 10GbE solution more expensive than FC.
  7. @sakacc Single VM with Oracle and Bad queries was pumping 50MB/s in read from a NetApp filer. NetApp filer cpu was at 60%.
  8. @sakacc Funny one with NFS. VM went beserk on I/O.With NFS very difficult to troubleshoot, which VM it was. NFS I/O didn't show in esxtop
  9. @fastflame Michael, you forgot the no end-user replacement of the battery in the iPad.
  10. @solori All those Linux ThinClients have PCoIP support? that would be truly cool.I can't find a single quote saying PCoIP works on Linux now
  11. @solori PCoIP supported in 82% ? Marketing... the OS download for the top class HP GT7720 dates from May 2009. = No pre-installed PCoIP.
  12. Just to remind us, what how bloatware works... Brocade Fabric OS 3.2.1c is 5Mb, 5.3.2c is 341Mb, 6.2.1b is 643Mb, 6.3.0b is now 1.15Gb.
  13. Brocade Fabric 6.3.0b web interface is cleaner & better than previous Fabric OS releases.
  14. Brocade 4020 Switch in the BladeCenter H is limited to release 6.2.1b, 'cos 6.3.0b requires 45% extra space. Internal flash to small I guess
  15. Logitech online shopping used to be better. You could select the Country Keyboard mapping you wanted (Qwerty instead of Qwertz). Bah :-(
  16. Surprised... the IBM BladeCenter came with an up to date firmware. Still to do: 27 updates for HS22 blades, Cisco 3012, Brocade 4020.
  17. RT @fusionio: Transforming datacenters with VMware and Fusion-io. Plus a Q&A with Woz! Feb. 3, Burbank. Register: http://bit.ly/7U8mHn
  18. Looks like a VM is doing large reading or scan in it's disk, but because it's on NFS I can't yet locate the VM.
  19. Running into a strange NFS on NetApp and ESX 3.5 issue. Trying to isolate the issue ... We are getting 20MbTX/s for 300-500MbRX/s...
  20. Created an OpenFiler server (iSCSI so far) with an Adaptec 5805 & 6x 1TB disks, which looks to deliver iSCSI luns faster than an HDS AMS2100.
