  1. Home, shower, soup, Nyquil, bed, miserable, gah.
  2. Apple pie without some cheese is still pretty darn good.
  3. The morning after the rainstorm was glorious.
  4. Push, pull through jackets, trees; whistle, rip, dangling shutter. Close the window, drift to sleep; celestial canvas snap, sputter.
  5. Water is roaring in the creek once again. Regrettably, I lack both kayaking equipment and water skills competancy to take advantage of it.
  6. I do love a rainy day.
  7. Movie marathon of historical dramas, dysfunctional families, regret of lost youth, recovering depressives. Could really go for a comedy now.
  8. It's raining, it's finally raining: Great big heaving sobs lashing out against the windows, settling into a drizzle, exhausted, determined.
  9. Hosting Thanksgiving meal tomorrow with irate family and a not-completely-thawed-yet turkey. The holiday does appear to be shaping up a bit.
  10. You know that time is catching up with you when you don't remember your age, pause to do the math, and can't believe the results you get.
  11. Summer officially ended almost a month ago, but it was only this morning, as I drove across the bay, that I felt it was truly gone.
  12. I miss reds and oranges exploding through the trees, breathing in chilled morning air, the smell of damp earth and leaves underfoot.
  13. Ah, Seattle, how I've missed you.
  14. Reading and responding to work emails for two hours; what does this say about the state of my inbox?Or my insomnia, for that matter?
  15. Perhaps the only thing better than a hearty Somali meal are the leftovers to be enjoyed the following day.
  16. Woke up at 6:30 and thought about going for a run, of all things. Came to my senses and hit the snooze button instead.
  17. Metafilter was down for just a short time tonight, yet I fretted: what to do, what to do? 'Find a hobby' might be a good place to start.
  18. A bit of cooking, laundry, and reading; phone calls with family, catching up on favorite podcasts, new episodes of Mad Men. I love Sundays.
  19. It was a gorgeous night for Shakespeare at the Old Globe in Balboa Park.
  20. Bought an iPhone, promptly forgot to eat or take bathroom breaks for hours. Could be bad for my health but I'm sure there's an app for that.
