  1. EMC Retrospect 8.1.626, with fixes for Daylight Savings Time changes and support for volumes >8 TB, is now available via Check for Updates.
  2. @cedge318 Apple Script support is underway. Shell scripting will take more work and time.
  3. New Retrospect Dev Blog post on the upcoming Retrospect 7.7 release with support for bare metal restore of Windows 7: http://bit.ly/4BQwOj.
  4. @dnsf @econify Retrospect.com was down this weekend for scheduled maintenance by EMC Corp IT. It frustrated us, too, but whaddyagonnado?
  5. @macadamiasyd The Retrospect 8.1 *engine* will run on Mac OS X Server 10.4.11, but the management console will need a Mac with 10.5 or 10.6.
  6. @dnsf If memory serves, Iomega has a great upgrade price to Retrospect 8 Desktop 3-User for all Iomega HDD owners...
  7. @philgoodman Retrospect 8 does support Fibre Channel. If SCSI, ATTO UL5 series seems good with Xserves.
  8. @dnsf It's doubtful that there will be a single consumer (i.e., non-network) Express version of Retrospect 8. Time Machine owns that market.
  9. @plaetzchen Yes, AppleScript support is coming; we're halfway. RE a more human readable log: Is that viewing in Retrospect or elsewhere?
  10. @Clownsun01 Sry for the slow response! Yes, Retrospect is able to backup Boot Camp partitions. Restore method differs for NTFS vs. FAT.
  11. This release also adds languages: Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified & Traditional Chinese, and Korean.
  12. EMC Retrospect 8.1 build 622 with Snow Leopard support is now available via automatic updates and on the Web: http://bit.ly/kMSnz.
  13. @TonyFisch Sorry to hear that. We prioritize dev work based on what's needed by the most users, and dev always takes longer than expected.
  14. @TonyFisch We are investigating SFTP and FTP support for early next year. WebDAV support might come sooner. Would that work for you?
  15. @TonyFisch Snow Leopard support will be added to Retrospect 8 for Mac with an update that will be released sometime in the next 24 hours.
  16. @TonyFisch Sry, really not sure what you're asking. Retrospect can back up any "remote" computer that it can ping over a TCP/IP network.
  17. @TonyFisch Regarding your question about "remote backup support," what's the context?
  18. Waiting on @eullman: Finishing the Release Notes for the next EMC Retrospect 8 update, which adds Snow Leopard support and 8 more languages.
  19. @edsai The ix team and the Mozy team both agree that the ix devices should be able to back themselves up to Mozy. Likely a matter of time.
  20. @edsai Retrospect Express HD 2.5 (Win only) allows users to configure both their PC-->ix4 and PC-->MozyHome backups in the Express HD UI.
