  1. @waitwait I thought maybe you were having a seance & contacted ghost of Ed McMahon. I desperately wanted Peter or panel to say something.
  2. @felicityrose Oh no! Did you switch banks, or did your bank do something? Mint and I flirted briefly a while back, but it didn't work out.
  3. Xmarks appears to be down, and all my Firefox bookmarks have vanished into The Cloud. Temporarily. I hope. #xmarks
  4. CA SC ruling: Narrow decision about the initiative process in CA, which is muy screwed up. Still married, at least. Back to the ballot!

  7. @LukeHornKako whaccha doin'?
  8. @SelectedShorts I had trouble getting Paley on the page. But I listened to A Pair of Paleys. Laura Esterman reads and: Ah!
  9. Mark Helprin's "Winter's Tale": NYC surrounded by a cloud wall. NYC in fiction. But San Francisco in fact.
  10. @MuppetWiki I remember those on your Converse high tops. How I loved them, and you.
  11. Went to The Tech museum in San Jose today. Like most hands-on places: A few parts charming, many broken, and lots of insistent children.
  12. There are a million jokes about Markov models, I know, but here's a new one: I'm writing a paper on how to use them in healthcare. My sides!
  13. To the spirit of Jane Jacobs: I have your eyes, and they help me see. The city, the city.
  14. I am a fan of: the dark, insomnia, total physical isolation, exploded pens, existential paralysis, collapsed souffles, theatrical disasters.
  15. Selected Shorts: John Lithgow reading Sherman Alexie's "Indian Country." Brilliant. No link to story. Subs. at http://bit.ly/19JYwe.
  16. Walked down to Valencia for lunch and bookstore browsing. Lovely mix of shabby and chic. Gorgeous day. Loving SF.
  17. Listening to fantastic new musical, Next to Normal. About a bipolar woman and her family. Sad. Soaring. Listen! http://bit.ly/4W4tj
  18. The book I'm not reading is riveting. The book I'm not reading keeps me up at night.
  19. Writing a report, singing the blues
