  1. Apple includes Hackintosh "kill switch" in latest Snow Leopard update: http://bit.ly/2Fl3Gc
  2. @jongordon Absolutely. If you uninstall, you lose the ability to deauthorize. You can authorize again on the other side.
  3. @jongordon Be sure to deauthorize PC. Frankly, if upgrade advisor says uninstall, i would do it. Only takes a few minutes to reinstall after
  4. @Gartenberg I truly feel your pain. I would want to hurl device against wall rather than sully the sock drawer.
  5. @ron_miller Sigh. I have multiple backups. This system backs up to hard drive image and to WHS. Also have restore points. Thx for your help.
  6. @Gartenberg You know, they actually have tech support forums: http://bit.ly/1TGen2.
  7. @ron_miller When I used my favorite search engine, I found many reports of users who had had similar problems, by the way.
  8. @ron_miller The subtext of "if she did everything right" is "wow, stupid user" - just thought that needed to be pointed out.
  9. @ron_miller That's not the way iTunes works on a PC. There isn't a magic file you can roll back.
  10. @ron_miller I actually did the upgrade myself. Very carefully. And it failed.
  11. @ron_miller Would be very nice if Apple provided way to export to file that could be saved them re-imported. But they don't.
  12. @ron_miller Apple provides only one way to backup iPhone, via iTunes. After iTunes UPGRADE, all backups were gone. Understand now?
  13. @ron_miller Sigh. Yes, she had backed up iTunes. Multiple times. t failed. Why do you insist that the software could not have failed?
  14. @Gartenberg That has happened to every device I have ever owned at one time or another. It took 30 minutes to recover, was no big deal.
  15. @ron_miller Nope. Complete fail. She reinstalled apps, went on with her life. iPhone backups are pretty fragile.
  16. @Gartenberg Then all computers are fails. My wife lost all iPhone apps in iTunes upgrade two months ago. Stuff happens.
  17. @judell I disagree. Serves to explain in shorthand why a message might be short, have typos, etc.
  18. @Gartenberg I don't blame you for being angry, but I've seen nothing to indicate this is widespread problem. U shd check SysRestore settings
  19. @Gartenberg Odd, no issues here. Firmware upgrade completely uneventful.
  20. @Gartenberg If this is on Windows 7 (or Vista Business/Ult) you can use Previous Versions to restore data on your PC very quickly
