I really like the look of the .less CSS project - but why use @ to prefix variables? CSS already uses @ for media selectors. Why not $ ?

I ended up writing a CIDR bitmask calculator in T-SQL tonight. I wish I'd got drunk instead. Now it is late and there is No Beer. :(
