  1. @gnat Wow. That's both impressive and a tinge scary.
  2. @adaminspired I think the GF-1 would serve as a great 1st camera.
  3. @dlnorman That's a nice collection of shots there!
  4. @andy_mpc Indeed. We've done that sort of thing as well as long term use testing. Of course, the other part of the system is the camera...
  5. @ynahteb Welcome to Portland! It's cold, but not as bad as a week or two ago. Brrrr.
  6. @andy_mpc Indeed. That's durability testing, of which we've done a lot as well. The focus of this post was really just raw strength.
  7. @adelcambre That was our max load of weights. Now, if we'd jumped on it--but there would have been safety issues with THAT :)
  8. @beaucolburn You're welcome! :) It's a good thing to wonder, and I think it's fascinating to see the processes behind testing things out.
  9. @dlnorman Hah. There ya go. I think insurance companies might disqualify us after seeing said video tho. :) Now, dead 1Dmk3s.... :)
  10. @gnb Our test apparatus didn't let us show a sexy break like that as the weights are threaded through and jacked up.
  11. @dlnorman @gnb Ha! I wish. The poor buckle wouldn't hold 450lbs. Alas. The boards would win.
  12. New blog post on testing @lumalabs Luma Loop, methodologies, factor of safety, etc. http://bit.ly/4SDXQ4
  13. @idbjorh It's hard to adequately measure expected dynamic load. Your shoulder will soak up a bunch of weight. More: http://bit.ly/4SDXQ4
  14. Um. Yah. I know. Oops.
  15. @brupm Thanks. As far as shock strength and the like, I've posted a blog post: http://bit.ly/4SDXQ4
  16. @pinarozger Smooth is good in this case. Smooth is what you want! :)
  17. @moonhawk Thanks! I've been digging the music as well. :)
  18. @jnouwen Yah. That'd be the interesting detail to know. Wow.
  19. @edacus Yah. We we're pretty excited by that FoS number. Especially since elevator cables are 11 and climbing gear is 20.
  20. @jnouwen During design, we did some testing with dropping 10 pound weights while wearing the Loop. Net result, very sore shoulders and backs
