  1. Moment: First part very strong; sort of drifted from me after the interval. Great set & some good acting but some of the drama misplaced
  2. Knive in Hens: Well worth catching it if you can. Loved the set & lighting the pews, performances & the play. Like a journey back in time.
  3. the 19th century world but found I was not involved emotionally with the story. Some great imagination at play in the writing though.
  4. Performances were very good & the design was very appealing. I was however expecting something more substantial. I loved the evocation of
  5. Johhny Patterson: The Singing Irish Clown. I went in high expectation based on the reviews and was a tad disappointed. Lots to admire.
  6. Sorry I missed recent Dublin runs of the Poe Show, Setanta Murphy and Someone to Watch Over Me
  7. Contemplating Tales of Ballycumber on Friday night. Also looking foward to catching some of the upcoming shows at Project and elsewhere
  8. ... the song used in the play, "Wondrous Place" by Billy Fury. You can listen to it here: http://bit.ly/22wGJd
  9. New Electric Ballroom: I was expecting much more given the hype about this show for last 2 years or so. Some good performances and loved
  10. ... for some time. I found the story line less compelling however. I found it hard to care about the characters except the baby.
  11. Blue Dragon: As I said before this was visually wonderful & indeed it is the most impressive piece of theatre I've seen in terms of design
  12. That show had more novelty value & I think glamour as well. This one was good without being great. Letter reading device only partly worked
  13. A Woman in Progress: Panti was hungover for her last perf. in DTF which didn't help matters. I enjoyed All Dolled Up back in the 07 Fringe
  14. Been busy & therefore quiet also. I got engaged in Berlin at the weekend & am due to become a dad next April but back to the real drama ...
  15. Birds: C Hinds OTT for fever & dream scenes early on. But as I said I really enjoyed it. 4/5
  16. Birds: I enjoyed this greatly partly because I had heard poor word of mouth. Very atmospheric. D Gough was superb; S Cusack less convincing.
  17. Irish would, but there was a subtle Cork slant to the jokes. Hospital toe-twiddling scene very moving. A little long for me but still 4/5
  18. Freefall: Possibly best acting I saw in DTF. Loved the Cork-angled humour. I went to same school as L Lovett so I got the jokes as anyone
  19. For acting & storyline Freefall, & finally for something a bit different, A Woman in Progress. Good stuff all round #dubtheatrefest
  20. Saw 4 shows at weekend each with their own strenghts. For atmosphere the Birds & for sound & visual design the Blue Dragon #dubtheatrefest
