  6. Santa Clara library was outstanding. Great mix of new and old, very flexible space, equipment and furniture. Good model.
  7. Anxious to see the new library at Santa Clara on Wednesday. Still looking for good ideas for our project.
  8. First Wililam Jewell "Justice Summit" in January; using "The Better World Handbook" to guide the programming. Great book.

  15. Outstanding first-year class at Jewell...average ACT of just under 26, average gpa of 3.7 and 36% have 28 or better ACT score.
  16. First day of fall classes at Jewell. It is great to hear the voices outside the window again. Lots of exciting changes to enjoy.
  17. Last of the summer reading..."Talent is Overrated" by Geoff Colvin. Very good.
  18. Great summer reading--"Blink" and "Outliers", both by Malcolm Gladwell.
  19. Summer reading--Integrity by Henry Cloud. Really good book on the importance of integrity in one's character.
  20. Summer reading--A Whole New Mind by Daniel Pink. Outstanding argument for the value of creativity in all walks of life.
