  1. And now, a sojourn across the Pearl. From the far NW corner, to the SW corner with naught but a podcast to keep my company. #fb
  2. Posted Part 2 of my Giant Blog Post. http://zentrope.tumblr.com/.... Not for the faint of heart. Have to get the thoughts out.
  3. Been listening to a lot of Fresh Air podcasts lately. I need to keep doing that. It's like, you know, vacation, or something. #fb
  4. Google Reader with the Social Networking features? Well, I guess, why not? Going to have to rethink "sharing" super esoteric/tech articles.
  5. @aaronblew Heh heh. The irony is that this machine is named "bleeding edge". I guess there's a silent "of 1995" implied.
  6. Hardware is so slow, I can press return after each GCC line. Maybe it should ask me, "Would you like to compile the next file? (y/n)"
  7. Revising a blogessay whilst Erlang compiles on Solaris 9, running on stone-knives-and-bear-skins hardware. It's like 1995!
  8. Beck? Beck! Right. You need to come off the CD and in to the world of untethered digital media. Shuffle off that mortal disc, so to speak.
  9. @chavtasticjinx I think I heard you're going to see some special Harry Potter showing tonight? Enjoy! Expecting to see whiskers on Harry....
  10. @aaronblew One of our co-workers bought his folks (or brother?) a Mac and decreased his tech-support to almost zero. For him, $ well spent.
  11. At Urban Grind because I can't do anything productive at home after work. Burned out! Nothing else to do here but BE productive. Ah, logic.
  12. Yesterday I had to write Groovy again after having spent a month using Erlang. I almost cried.
  13. Every once in a while I have to break out of my Classical Music diet for some Elliott Smith. And Explosions in the Sky. #fb
  14. @chavtasticjinx Reverse Peter Principal: you get demoted to a position of incompetence? Me? Not so good at no-indendent-thought tasks.
  15. @standaloneSA The prob with Java (aside from no closures), are all the frameworks attempting to overcome the fact that it's not dynamic.
  16. @aaronblew The developers ARE the implementation. Heh. Try that one on! I like it. It sure explains why "maintenance" is a bitch.
  17. Determine how I ended up in an IT organization when I thought I'd joined up to write software.
  18. Desperate for SF, I'll be watching Starhunters 2300, which is mostly dismal, while doing chores. I should do my own SF with stick figs....
  19. @chavtasticjinx Would picturing it as John Hodgman help? Its skirting around the real question: When are going going back to Mac? *sniff*
  20. @chavtasticjinx A, "We need to talk," notification?
