  1. Phoenix PR community (& others!), you're welcome to attend the client pitch session by Campaigns students: Dec. 10, 2-7 pm Cronkite Theatre.
  2. If you're an ASU student who lives and/or attends classes downtown, please take a short survey for #JMC417 students: http://is.gd/5bqcT
  3. @SamADoyle Yep, you're good. Everyone got it in on time, thankfully! (I hate having to take points off for silly things like lateness).
  4. Aaaand they're all in. Whew. That was a nail-biter right up until the very end! #JMC417
  5. @Shane_S Definitely. People who only use social media to talk about social media are dull as dirt.
  6. @lehanson That was done with Prezi.com. Used well, it can be very effective.
  7. @vesztes @ninky The dual-U system is in many states: Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Washington, Minnesota--off the top of my head.
  8. @vesztes That distinction doesn't hold anymore in many (most?) states, but it affects things like budget allocations, teaching loads, etc.
  9. @vesztes "U of X" & "X State" systems are different. Originally, the latter were often "teaching schools," & the former primarily research.
  10. I'm so excited to see the #jmc417 presentations today! I know everyone's been working hard and rehearsing, so these should be great.
  11. Oh, yes. RT @DrSha: Good point. RT @profhorsley Dear students: No one notices when you are prepared, but everyone notices when you are not.
  12. @shoyeb Thanks for posting pictures of your #JMC425 class--they bring back happy memories.
  13. Web site trend that I despise: toolbars. I do not want your custom toolbar features, thanks. Give me back my screen real estate!
  14. And so it begins... RT @oli2be: Twitter's first augmented reality iPhone app http://is.gd/59l66 #jmc417
  15. @drnels I could never structure my class that way, but nice to know it's possible for some!
  16. That's exactly what it all boils down to: privileging communication over format. RT @longcreative: @drgilpin Very true. Content over form.
  17. @longcreative Not when they contain actual information, versus cryptic title-like phrases that don't actually say much.
  18. I agree about bullets, @penningink. And yet my students know that I prohibit bullet points in PPT presentations. Why use them in writing?
  19. @brent_alex Note that the protesters were primarily other ASU students, not from Cronkite. No need to be embarrassed. #arpaiousa
  20. @RepuTrack I suppose (although many of them also resist Twitter). But that's a structural constraint that doesn't exist elsewhere.
