  7. Just off to see Dad in hospital for the last time before heading back to Seattle. This will be a tough one ...
  8. Mum's birthday meal was excellent. We ate at Roastit Bubbly Jocks in Glasgow. Fine Scottish food was no contradiction for once.
  9. Dad get's out of hospital for one day for my mother's birthday. He's doing fine, but now needs some longer term therapy.

  11. Dad is still in hospital but now stabilized. He's likely to be in for some time as they are now tackling some of his longer-term problems.
  12. I'm in Newport, Wales for the SQLBits conference. First time in Wales for many years. It's still wet.

  14. Good visit with Dad today, although he's still in hospital. My sister made him laugh so much he needed oxygen. But he felt better for it.
  15. @Tom_Freeman_ Indeed Tom. And even an ebbing tide can be rough. He's doing fine - he knows he needs help, for the first time.
  16. Dad spent his first ever night in hospital - not bad for 79, but you can't tell him that. Very grumpy.
  17. @jenstirrup Thanks Jen. Indeed the care he is getting is excellent. In fact, all round, the care he gets ongoing is really good.
  18. turn for the worse today.spent the day with dad in hospital. not critical, but a worry.
  19. Dad's not so bad. I called last wk to say I'd be home, Mum said "Now I must tell you he's been in bed for weeks." But he's up today for me.
