  1. @KarenRussell that's one of the cool things about last.fm! Pandora has a similar feature and they both allow you to discover new artists!
  2. Come hang out with us at Tate from now until 2! We have free giveaways!
  3. PayPlay just made a link specifically for the Doitlegally campaign. One hundred free downloads can be found at http://payplay.fm/promo/uga.
  4. Team Clermont doesn't allow their clients like Death Cab or The White Stripes to use DRM...interesting.

  6. So the only way the RIAA can only track illegal downloading of songs is if the artist is a member of the RIAA.
  7. Another reason to use legal alternatives is higher quality for songs.
  8. Can you imagine receiving a notice from the RIAA asking for $2.5 million?
  9. It's good to know the University is on student's and faculty's side and simply passes the copyright violation notices onto people.

  13. @jarekbeem Doesn't it seem counter-intuitive that small artists would benefit from free distribution? It's all about exposure though.
  14. @kaye You'll have to ask him after the panel. Maybe he could arrange a meet and greet for you if they ever come to Athens!
  15. It's difficult to imagine that fourteen years ago illegal downloading wasn't an issue.
  16. The panel is starting. Time to learn about the changing atmosphere of illegal downloading and about some legal alternatives!
  17. @liz126 Yes, we will be tweeting during the panel. Thanks for following us! It should be very informative and fun!
  18. Dr. William Lee, a professor who teaches law of mass communication, will explain the potential consequences of copyright infringement.
  19. Imaad Rashied, a student caught downloading on the UGA network, will be sharing a personal testimony during the panel discussion.
  20. Another panelist who is talking about the music industry side of illegal downloading is co-founder of Team Clermont, Nelson Wells.
