  1. Reading the manual for a new car stereo reminded me just how hard it is to learn something this way. Usually I just poke my way through.
  2. I am moving to Boston next year. Now my company knows, and now Twitter knows. I have lived in Rochester all my life.
  3. Magic Mouse + infinite scrolling space (as in a spreadsheet) = zomg
  4. Look here, it's a Twitter post not about technology! I totally do this all the time, and... d'oh.
  5. Just today, Google Groups introduced nicer HTML digest e-mails. So much for the popular theory that no-one at Google is working on it.
  6. I lie to Google.
  7. It seems like there are enough tiny reasons Firefox still doesn't integrate well with Mac OS X, without them intentionally creating more.
  8. Firefox silently fails to do anything with an afp:// link by default. User asks me 'why?' Good question. MOZILLA KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU.
  9. http://www.apple.com/retail/reserve/ Okay, good, but why is this a holiday-only thing? Other online/retail stores have this year-round.
  10. Sad to see this was rejected for core inclusion: http://bit.ly/7cjXt Hopefully it will still make it to distro repositories.
  11. Not a fan of GNOME 3's Windows-like 'Activities' menu, but good to see they're trying new things. May they not repeat the mistakes of KDE 4.
  12. Why would you ask me to confirm moving to the Trash? Moving to the Trash is undoable. That is the only reason the Trash exists.
  13. @siracusa That machine is older than some (many?) of the people working there. They may have never even used one. Feel old yet?
  14. VMware Fusion's icon has a clever 'hidden' picture in the negative space (like the FedEx logo).
  15. Ubuntu upgrade failed because /boot was full. Because it automatically saves ALL old kernels and can't clean up after itself. Absurd.
  16. 'df' and 'du'. I've used these commands hundreds of times, over the span of years. And yet I still can never remember which is which.
  17. Momentum scrolling is fun.
  18. Apple, please stop making the MacBook worse. First you got rid of black, now you've got rid of Firewire and infrared. :(
  19. Nothin' but the rain.
  20. Inconsistencies in Twitter That Will Never Ever Be Fixed: Virtually all Twitter clients support line breaks. The Twitter web site does not.
