  5. @Denrael It's changing though. Hospitals are hiring qualified CTO's. CEO's are getting educated. More $$ is given to IT depts...
  6. @Denrael Rare that IT departments innovate b/c some hospital CEO's don't understand value of IT. Some think it's just 2 service monitors!
  7. @Denrael .. and they want the nurses to deal w/ family members too! And we DO! Everyone that flies in to see their loved one.
  8. @Denrael And that's the thing. EVERY PATIENT is NO. 1. Nurses often have patient loads from 6 - 8 - 10 each! We have nurse aids. 1: 12 pts
  9. @Denrael WOW. SHe was so right! EVERY patient HAS to come FIRST!!!! BUT in reality.. they DON'T. It's about prioritizing care.

  11. @Denrael ... that happens ALL the time. Once I actually said to the person, "I am so sorry but one pt was in distress (to put it mildly) .."
  12. @Denrael .. after code is done. U return 2 rm 2202 & apologize 4 being away so long. They are angry, their family is angry .. .
  13. @Denrael .. does nurse have time to tell someone to get her pt in rm 2202 the can of coke, bedpan, blanket etc...? And even if you do ....
  14. @Denrael 10:11 rm2215: your other pt. codes. You & code team are in room for 40 min - 1.20 hrs .. depending .. trying to save life ...
  15. @Denrael Picture this: 1010am rm# 2202: pt wants a bedpan/or can of coke or blanket or pain med. You go out of room 2 get what they want ...
  16. @Denrael .. but it's innovation in IT that helps make things run smoother so those in specific roles can focus on customer service ..
  17. @Denrael Oh, the hospitals I've worked for DO address customer concerns. I'm proud to have worked with them .....

  20. @Denrael .. nurse infomatics .. so I got a really good overview of issues relevant to all areas. There's a definite solution.
