  1. At workshop in Rex Hotel, HCMC, I will talk on "Scaling up ecological engineering practices - understanding farmers' decisions"
  2. Visited our ecological engineering site in Cai Be in Tien Giang to make sure arrangements are in place for workshop field trip on Dec. 1.
  3. In Vietnam, our ADB-IRRI planthopper project will review activities, identify constraints & adjust procedures to meet research objectives.
  4. I will be on travel to Vietnam and will be very busy in the next 2 weeks so I may not be able to respond as quickly as I wish.
  5. Many students ask me to do their assignments for them. They should first read the "About" in Devcompage.
  6. When entering survey data in Excel, never store them as text as SPSS will read it as string. I must convert to numbers one cell at a time.
  7. Busy processing survey data from Vietnam and later Thailand. Need to graph key results for a scientific poster and PPT for a review mtg.

  11. Our Devcom seniors presented their thesis outlines and successfully defended them. They have come a long way indeed.
  12. At symposium, my talk is on "Behavior change communication in natural resource management: Impact and sustainability issues".
  13. A devcom symposium will be held at UPLB on Oct 8 starting at 2 pm. This is open to the public.
  14. Benguet State University's devcom program holds forum on new approaches in communicating science for development on Sept 17.

  17. Met Dr. Nona S. Ricafort, CHED Chair, yesterday. Told her about using online resources for teaching many students. She was keen to know how.
  18. Just got back from Bangkok tonight. Had to edit a citation for a plaque of appreciation for Senator Legarda.
  19. I'm off to Bangkok tomorrow to conduct training on survey procedures for our ADB planthopper project.
  20. Training on survey procedures, questionnaire pretesting and data entry will be held in Chainat, Thailand on 3-4 August.
