  1. @lewmoorman It's the whole idea of stand alone apps Chrome OS is doing away with. MS can't compete because it kills their business model.
  2. @lewmoorman it's not about price, Linux is better than Windows and is free but hasn't made a dent in Windows marketshare >>
  3. Nearly finished a clean install of Fedora 11 on my laptop. Compiled a clean copy of emacs and I'm nearly good to go.
  4. @jowyang @loic I second that -- my little mac mini can't handle Air, the browser app is very welcome!
  5. @OReillyMedia @mcdent also 1992 and I believe I bought DNS & Bind, and UUCP at the same time in golden shopping arcade in Sham Shui Po, NT
  6. It takes a lot of time to be a genius, you have to sit around so much doing nothing, really doing nothing. - Gertrude Stein
  7. @AKGovSarahPalin I suspect that Cronkite's definition of liberal deviates significantly from yours...
  8. @zhiQ My gut reaction is that Newscorp is stupid not to sell MySpace AND stupid not to buy Twitter
  9. @dedlam you're right, Windows and Chrome OS are apples and oranges -- but people need to understand things relative to what they understand
  10. It's time for interfaces to shed their analogue metaphors, that's what Wave and Chrome OS and even the iPhone is about.
  11. Toss the cruft and start clean slate. MS and Apple will have to change their products because they can't afford to jettison their cruft.
  12. Google Chrome OS has the potential to change the OS Wars in the same way that the iPhone has changed the mobile phone market
  13. @empirebetty the Christmas Tree Shop jumped the shark, they used to be cool when it was just one shop on CapeCod before they became a chain
  14. @sarahintampa MS are like the French gov they rename everthing. Bookmarks are "favorites" and their open source licence is an "open promise"
  15. Rackable seems to be rebranding themselves as SGI when you go to http://rackable.com it redirects to. Http://sgi.com. Interesting...
  16. Hmmmm. 10,770 days till my death. I'll hit an even 10K when I'm 50. Gotta get busy, or I won't have enough time to finish my work...
  17. If Google Chrome OS is basically a flavour of Linux, why is it taking so long to release the chrome browser for Linux and OSX?
  18. @OReillyMedia The Erlang book IS good. I can't afford the Clojure book. If you give me a copy I'd be happy to write a proper review :)
  19. @dannysullivan The link is indeed back -- But they aren't exactly trying to draw attention to it. I bet it was left out to test the reaction
  20. @skinnylatte Air India is the worst airline I've ever flown. Thought the plane was going to break up mid air en route to Tokyo....
