  1. @bvlearner no cover on top after curing. Usually it's buried in soil to finish, but I've no land. Improv'ing w/clear storage tub.
  2. @sinceday1 you & @iAMreggie are the most beautiful decorations there!
  3. RT @bvlearner: We are all worms, but I do believe that I am a glow-worm. - Winston Churchill

  6. I can watch all manner of violence, blood & gore on TV, but I find the show Hoarders too deeply disturbing even for me.
  7. Since when did we start calling it Black Friday? I thought it was called Boxing Day.
  8. @bvlearner Yes, I added chicken bones. I'm still finishing my 1st bucket in soil, so we'll see how well it really does. I'm suspicious, too.
  9. @bvlearner How will you finish your bokashi? Feed to worms? Bury in the garden?
  10. @bvlearner Sure, I'd try it. Couldn't hurt. May take longer to ferment & you might find it in your finished soil, but'd be easy to pick out.
  11. @bvlearner ...activity at this point. I had little juice leachate too, which is why I got lazy. Letting it collect for 2 wks is BAD.
  12. @bvlearner dry'ish scraps + generous bokashi = little leachate, which is ok. I think building the habit of draining every 2-3 days is a good
  13. @bvlearner I'm also bokashi'ing in conjunction w/worms. If you "follow" me, I'll DM u my email addy. Might be easier to help each other?
  14. @bvlearner I'll have more experiences to report on that in a few weeks.
  15. @bvlearner ...adding meat, dairy or pastas, 4) don't mix the contents, just add bokashi w/new scraps. 1st harvest is still finishing, but...
  16. @bvlearner My tips: 1) be generous w/the bokashi when adding new scraps, 2) drain frequently, 3) wait til bin is well established before...
  17. @bvlearner I'd like to make my own bokashi bran. Been using the pre-made commercial stuff so far. Just harvest my 1st bin. Made some errors.
  18. Fixing that now. @Podchef If U R following me on Twitter, why the heck ain't you my friend on Facebook! ?????
  19. I'll second that! RT @Rosemont_Farm: @podchef I think you're the smartest farmer I know
  20. @podchef Thx for the bokashi guidance!
