  1. Spending time in Aperture and Pages today reminds me once again how awesome Apple's desktop apps can be sometimes.
  2. Is it just me, or is Faces recognition in Aperture 3 really fuckin’ good?
  3. @tehdely — BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK BIOSHOCK BIOSHat's some kind of video game, or something? BIOSHOCK!
  4. Screw jet packs—the back of this taxi has a multi-touch screen with Google Maps, and an Amex ExpressPay RFID reader. The future is now!
  5. Aperture 3: 60% of what I love about Lightroom, plus 60% of what I love about iPhoto, plus some bugs.
  6. @chartier — I was thinking you wouldn't even need a bg process, just a set of APIs for exposing services to other apps.
  7. My theory: whenever background processes come to the iPhone, they'll be more like a worker queue/cron job than actual standalone processes.
  8. @chartier - Yes, but solving the "TextExpander problem" doesn't necessarily mean we need unlimited, constantly running bg processes.
  9. To be clear: I'm not a hater. "Jersey Shore" is okay. Meetings are okay. It's just the combination that's less okay. Also, I have to pee.
  10. You can measure the painfulness of a meeting by its duration in min., times the number of refs to "Jersey Shore". We're at 270 and rising.
  11. Aperture? They still make that?
  12. Tuesday, so far: trudged through snow, fired my last old freelance client, ate oatmeal. Next up: meetings. Lots of meetings.
  13. Yesterday I was eating ice cream on a sidewalk. Today, well…there's a sidewalk, and there's ice, but no cream.
  14. @hodapp — DONT TALK ABOUT FIVE FINGERS LIKE THAT I WEAR MINE TO WHOLE FOODS HAY DID YOU GET A DISCOUNT?
  15. I liked @37signals's insights way better before they were labeled "INSIGHT" in my RSS reader.
  16. Extreme tightness and fatigue in the lower part of my poor, abused legs: I haz it.
  17. @inthemiddle - Depends: if you all bet, do I keep the money so I can pay for a $2,000/mo, 1-bedroom SF apartment?
  18. Why hello, Chicago! Didn't see you there. Are you still cold and alienating?
  19. GOOD: Plane is semi-delayed, so United checked my suitcase for free. LESS GOOD: Dude in seat 34H is torturing me with delicious food smell.
  20. One of these days I really am gonna mean it when I say I plan to travel light.
