  1. @caughtsomewhere I started to read that one but it really didn't grab me. Liked the idea more than the book itself.

  3. If you're interested in religion or psychology I highly recommend it.
  4. Currently reading LEAVING THE SAINTS: HOW I LOST THE MORMONS AND FOUND MY FAITH by Martha Beck. Its a fascinating book.

  13. I miss Vonnegut being in the world. He was a drop of reason in an ocean of willful stupidity.
  14. Mini-rant: More and more I find myself agreeing with Kurt Vonnegut. The human species is flat-out bat-shit crazy.
  15. @KevSparrow71 I'm not even aware of any artist's renditions that were made in his lifetime. Good question, I'll try to find out.
  16. @KevSparrow71 To the best of my knowledge Lovecraft made no drawings and didn't endorse any particular artist's version.
  17. Other genres are popular because they, mostly, appeal to women more than SF does. Women read novels more than men and the gap is widening .
  18. SF is still enormously popular. But most young males today are getting their SF fix from movies and gaming. They just don't read much.
  19. I've read a lot of talk lately on the SF blogs about why SF book sales are in a slump and whether science fiction is dying. Here's my take:
  20. 8x10 in. prints of my latest Cthulhu painting: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150396417715&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
