  1. @rachellaycock Definitely the one who thinks business logic belongs in them. Let the DB do the querry, everything else in the backend code.
  2. @ctrl_freak Oh man! I wish I had know that earlier. Thx. I tend to just run around with the mouse, except with text.
  3. @johnlacey Spoken like a guru.
  4. @kestra So those slithy and mimsy portmanteau words make you frumious? (As he chortled in his glee).
  5. @kestra I know I'm not exactly painting a rosey picture, but it isn't all bad. It looks great. Better than XP, nearly as good as Win2k.
  6. @kestra Ah, perfect timing, I was about to check my old machine for the keystrokes combo. And yes it does work.
  7. @cathroxx I'm just having early adopter whinging pains. There is a lot to like - and I know it will be widely adopted - so I have to do it.
  8. No really, where is the menu in windows explorer in Win7. I don't want to have to drag the mouse to 'select all'. (Option any where?)
  9. Someone at MS listened to one of those silly UX talks where you are told to take out features. Why is there no memu in Windows explorer?
  10. @Sillyboy I might for the first one. The second one was malicious (and pure) HTML. I think they did a brilliant job detecting that.
  11. @ChrisSylvester 10 or 16 pound sledgehammer?
  12. The other one I wrote (but it was a test of a common exploit to popup an EXE from HTML code).
  13. Given that one of reports is from a copy of an old MAC System7.5.3 CD, I suspect false positive. (Virus:MacOS/ComputerShutDown ?)
  14. Wow! MS Security Essentials is GOOD. I think it has just discovered 2 false positives in an old archive - but like the way it works.
  15. @ChrisSylvester So which button do I press to do that... no wait... I can't find any.
  16. @morb01 But does the Mac one show the floating point errors and the Windows one get it right as the real ones do?
  17. More whinging about my upgrade hassles later today.... ;)
  18. Sometimes when I write 'say' I mean 'sez' == says.
  19. @inJenious *Definitely* do it then. I have not 'experienced' Vista, but everything I've read say Win7 is cleaner AND FASTER.
  20. @EvilSue But the real point was: 1) Old machine running Vista WILL have the grunt and drivers. 2) XP software may NOT work on Win7.
